Thriving in My 30's: 30 Treasures I Carry Forward.

Welcome and thank you for coming along me on this journey! Stepping into a world of exploration and reflection as I unveil my brand-new blog series. I want to kick things off with "Thriving in My 30's", join me as we discuss what I'm taking with me and what I'm choosing to leave behind in the new decade ahead.

My 20's has brought a multitude of growth, learning and achievement. As I embarked throughout this time, I encountered some important lessons that I aim to bring with me into the next stage of my life.

"I am seeking.
I am striving.
I am in it with all my heart."
- Vincent van Gogh

Embracing the lessons within, I carry forward these insights and cherished values, poised to enrich the path that lies ahead.

30 things to remember in your 30's:

  1. I can break the cycles I'm are not proud of with communication, honestly & mindfulness.

  2. It’s important to keep a balance of stillness, friendship & self care to prevent burn out or breakdowns

  3. Look at how far you’ve come & all the bomb-ass shit you’ve achieved thus far. It’s far more than most attempt in their lifetime & something to be very proud of.

  4. I don’t need another person to make my life great or achieve my goals, that’s all on me baby!!!

  5. What you put into your body will effect what you get out, fast food, alcohol & processed crap will leave you feeling like crap. The quality of your food has a direct effect on the quality of your life.

  6. Trust my instincts, they have proven to be true a huge majority of the time.

  7. Do not give the people who make you stressed or anxious any room or control over your emotions.

  8. Remember the abundance of positive energy that can come from "STAYING TRUE TO YOU" & the joy of creating the life I want.

  9. Alcohol & other distractions won't solve your problems, the will only leave you in the same exact place with less energy, shame & a headache.

  10. Find ways to be okay with discomfort. Understand that it is all in efforts to grow & learn from the current situation.

  11. The universe has a plan & it will never give you more than what you can handle.

  12. It's top priority to see gratitude for the abundance in life, try to recognize this everyday that I get in this life.

  13. Sometimes I step on my own feet. I don’t need to over explain to people who will never understand.

  14. Don’t forget to smile.

  15. I’ve hit financial, career & social goals that I set for myself over a decade ago. Never forget all that you’re capable of with hardworking, a good plan & consistency.

  16. It’s healthy to connect with people, especially creatives (for me personally). I can learn so much from listening to other stories.

  17. There is always time to live in the now, the rest can wait.

  18. Give yourself time, growth will never happen instantly.

  19. Have faith in your abilities and rely on past experience.

  20. Embrace creating, problem solving and enjoying bringing something to life. It's a unique ability that fuels me.

  21. There is narrative in my head that says “I'm definitely going to fail at this”. What would happen if it switched this to “I may fail at this but fuck it, I’m gonna try anyway & learn what I can along the way”?

  22. You have an amazing partner who’s got your back. Who is willing to walk through the good & the bad times with you. Never forget that, embrace them and support them - it also never hurts to let them know how great they are.

  23. It’s a great thing to keep learning. Learning new techniques, technologies or even getting into subjects that were framed as “too hard” helps me grow as a human & opens new doors that I could have never dreamed of.

  24. Sunshine and sweat are the best remedy for down days.

  25. Do your research, even if you’ve done it before, new information comes out every day. People discover things on a regular basis. Knowing what’s out there & informing yourself is the most important thing you could do to protect yourself in the future.

  26. It’s okay to loose the schedule, go with the flow and try your best. That’s more than enough.

  27. Wear the sunscreen.

  28. Avoid saying No, of course when it’s absolutely necessary for your health, safety or well being but other than that you never know what experiences, eduction or confidence can come from saying yes.
